Putra Heights Blast Investigation, Anti-Trump Protests, and China-US Trade Tensions

Malaysia:
Authorities have recorded 118 statements in connection with the Putra Heights gas pipeline fire. Selangor police confirmed the statements include 15 contractors and workers involved in nearby excavation and sewer works. Investigators are using heavy machinery to fully uncover the pipeline, buried up to 7 metres deep. Preliminary findings indicate the gas line was 1.6 metres beneath a sewage pipe, with no visible damage.
The incident is not classified as a criminal case at this stage, and no companies have been named pending further analysis.

United States:
Over the weekend, nationwide protests broke out across all 50 states under the “Hands Off” movement, condemning President Trump’s recent immigration raids and economic policies. Demonstrations also took place in London, Paris, and Berlin, reflecting growing international concern.
President Trump’s approval rating has slipped slightly as critics point to increasing donor influence and harsh budget cuts.

China:
In response to the 54% US tariff hike on Chinese goods, Beijing has imposed retaliatory tariffs and revoked duty-free status for US imports. The Chinese foreign ministry warned of economic consequences, stating “the market has spoken” amid growing recession fears in the US.
While Hong Kong remains neutral, Chinese industry leaders caution that continued tensions could fuel inflation and global instability.
